'Subway Series,' yet to hit NY, has web addresses for sale
October 11, 2000

By Mike Wilke
New York
Revolution USA - New York baseball teams the Yankees and Mets aren't certain to face each other off yet for the World Series but WhataDomain.com announced today that it is offering for sale a group of domain names that anticipate a New York City "Subway Series."

New York-based WhataDomain.com, a division of NetUpstarts, sells domain names and is offering a variety of variations on eSubwaySeries.com for a minimum bid of $5,000.
The variations include e-subwayseries.com and subway-series.com, as well as endings with .net and .org.

Asked if he would sell the variations to separate parties, Bernard Sonnenschein, president and CEO, said, "it would depend upon the final price." He added that event oriented web sites are "a hot area."
